Alka Tiwari is a hydrometeorologist who studies how satellite-based rainfall estimates impact hydrology, especially during extreme weather events like hurricanes. Currently, she is working on an NSF RAPID proposal to assess rainfall for Hurricane Helene, along with evaluating the variability in gridded rainfall products and their effects on hydrological models. She has a background in Civil Engineering and earned her Doctoral degree from Purdue University.
